Ground Beef Taco Salad

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground beef

  • 2 tablespoons taco seasoning

  • 1 avocado, sliced

  • 1/2 cup sour cream

  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded

  • 2 cups tortilla chips

Instructions:

  1. In a large skillet, heat some oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it up with a spatula, until browned and cooked through.

  2. Drain excess fat from the skillet and stir in the taco seasoning. Continue cooking for another 2 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

  3. Meanwhile, preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C).

  4. Arrange the tortilla chips on a baking sheet and sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over them. Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for about 3-5 minutes, or until the cheese has melted.

  5. Remove the cheesy tortilla chips from the oven and let them cool slightly.

  6. In a large serving bowl, assemble the taco salad. Start with a layer of the cheesy tortilla chips, followed by the seasoned ground beef, sliced avocado, dollops of sour cream, and additional shredded cheddar cheese.

  7. Toss the salad gently to combine all the flavors.
