Grilled Cheeseburger with Tangy Mayo and Pickles

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound hamburger meat

  • 4 slices of cheese (cheddar or American)

  • 4 hamburger buns

  • 4 tablespoons mayo

  • 8 pickle slices

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your Kamado Joe grill to medium-high heat.

  2. Divide the hamburger meat into four equal portions and shape them into patties, ensuring they are slightly larger than the hamburger buns to allow for shrinkage during cooking.

  3. Season the patties generously with salt and pepper on both sides.

  4. Place the patties on the preheated grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness. For medium, the internal temperature should be around 160°F (71°C).

  5. While the hamburger patties are cooking, slice the hamburger buns in half and spread a tablespoon of mayo on the bottom half of each bun.

  6. Once the patties are almost done, top each patty with a slice of cheese and allow it to melt for about a minute or until it reaches a gooey consistency.

  7. Remove the patties from the grill and place them on the mayo-spread bottom half of each bun.

  8. Top the cheeseburgers with two pickle slices each.

  9. Cover the burgers with the top half of the bun, creating a delicious sandwich.

  10. If desired, wrap the burgers in foil and return them to the grill for a minute or two, allowing the flavors to meld together and the bun to become warm and toasty.

  11. Remove the foil-wrapped burgers from the grill and serve immediately. Enjoy the sensational combination of grilled hamburger meat, gooey melted cheese, tangy mayo, and crunchy pickles!
