Ingredients
- 4 chicken breasts
- 1 onion
- 4 cloves of garlic
- 2 cans of cream of mushroom soup
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
3. Heat a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat.
4. Add olive oil to the skillet and sear the chicken breasts until golden brown, about 3 minutes per side. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
5. In the same skillet, sauté the chopped onion until translucent, about 5 minutes.
6. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute, stirring constantly.
7. Stir in the cream of mushroom soup and bring to a simmer.
8. Return the chicken breasts to the skillet, nestling them into the creamy mushroom sauce.
9. Cover the skillet with foil or a lid and transfer it to the preheated oven.
10. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
11. Remove from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.
