Maple Glazed Tuna with Butterscotch
Ingredients:
- 1 cup butterscotch chips
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 1 can of tuna, drained
- Salt, to taste
- Pepper, to taste
Instructions:
- In a small saucepan, melt the butterscotch chips over low heat, stirring constantly until smooth and creamy. This will take approximately 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat.
- Add the maple syrup to the melted butterscotch and stir until well combined. Set aside.
- Preheat the stove to medium-high heat.
- Season the tuna with salt and pepper on both sides.
- Place a non-stick skillet on the stove and heat it until hot.
- Add the seasoned tuna to the hot skillet and sear for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until it reaches your desired level of doneness. The tuna should have a nice golden brown crust.
- Once the tuna is cooked, remove it from the skillet and set it aside, allowing it to rest for a few minutes.
- While the tuna is resting, reheat the butterscotch and maple mixture over low heat until it becomes warm and pourable.
- Plate the seared tuna and generously drizzle the warm butterscotch glaze over it.
