Grilled Sausage and Cheese Stuffed Hogie with Jalapenos

Ingredients

  • Link Sausages

  • Hogie Rolls

  • Cheese (preferably your favorite melting cheese)

  • Jalapenos (fresh or pickled)

  • Mustard (Dijon or whole grain recommended)

Instructions

  • Start by preheating your charcoal grill to medium-high heat and make sure the grates are clean.

  • Grill your link sausages until they're beautifully charred and cooked through, this will roughly take about 6-8 minutes per side.

  • While sausages are cooking, slice your hogie rolls lengthwise, making sure not to slice through completely. It should open like a book.

  • Grate your cheese and slice your jalapenos. If you prefer less heat, remove the seeds and membrane of the jalapenos.

  • Once sausages are fully cooked, place them inside your sliced hogie rolls, add your cheese on top and then layer your sliced jalapenos.

  • Place your stuffed hogies on the grill, cheese side up, close the grill lid, and cook them until cheese is melted and bubbly. Approximately 2-3 minutes. Keep a close eye on them to prevent burning.

  • Remove from grill, let it cool for a minute, then drizzle your mustard on top and enjoy your Grilled Sausage and Cheese Stuffed Hogie with Jalapenos while warm.
