Decadent Chicken Alfredo Spaghetti: A Dinner Delight



Ingredients


- 1 pound spaghetti noodles
- 2 large chicken breasts, boneless and skinless
- 2 cups alfredo sauce (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- Salt to taste

Instructions



1. Prepare the Chicken:
- Place the chicken breasts on a cutting board. Pat them dry with paper towels.
- Season both sides with salt and half of the black pepper.

2. Cook the Spaghetti:
- In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil.
- Add the spaghetti noodles and cook according to the package instructions (usually around 8–10 minutes), stirring occasionally.
- Once cooked, drain the noodles and set aside, reserving 1 cup of pasta water.

3. Sauté the Chicken:
- In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil.
- Add the chicken breasts. Cook each side for about 6–7 minutes until golden brown and fully cooked through (internal temperature of 165°F).
- Remove the chicken from the skillet and let it rest for a few minutes. Then, slice the chicken into thin strips.

4. Sauté the Onions:
- In the same skillet, add the chopped onions.
- Sauté over medium heat until the onions are translucent and aromatic, about 4–5 minutes.

5. Combine with Alfredo Sauce:
- Lower the heat and pour the alfredo sauce into the skillet with the sautéed onions.
- Stir in the remaining black pepper.
- Let it simmer gently for 2–3 minutes until the sauce is heated through.

6. Combine All Ingredients:
- Add the cooked spaghetti noodles and sliced chicken to the skillet.
- Toss everything together until the spaghetti is well-coated in the alfredo sauce and the chicken is evenly distributed.
- For desired consistency, gradually add the reserved pasta water, stirring until the sauce reaches your preferred thickness.

7. Serve:
- Divide the dish among four bowls.
- Optionally, garnish with freshly cracked black pepper and a sprinkle of grated parmesan cheese.
