Apple Cinnamon French Toast Bake



Ingredients


- 2 apples, chopped
- 8 slices of bread, cubed
- 1 cup milk
- 4 eggs
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup chopped pecans
- 1/4 cup maple syrup

Instructions


1. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chopped apples and microwave on high for 3 minutes, until slightly softened.
2. In a large bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
3. Add the cubed bread and microwave softened apples to the egg mixture and stir to combine.
4. Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish and sprinkle with chopped pecans.
5. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
6. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
7. Bake the French toast casserole for 30-35 minutes, until golden and set.
8. Serve with maple syrup drizzled on top.
