Tomahawk Steak with Roasted Potatoes, Carrots, Onions, and Garlic
Ingredients:
- 1 Tomahawk steak
- 4 medium potatoes, quartered
- 4 carrots, peeled and cut into 2-inch chunks
- 1 large onion, sliced into thick rings
- 4 cloves of garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
- Preheat your Kamado Joe grill to a high heat of around 500°F (260°C).
- Season the Tomahawk steak generously with salt and pepper on both sides. Let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes to allow the seasoning to penetrate the meat.
- Place the quartered potatoes in a medium-sized bowl and toss them with olive oil, minced garlic, salt, and pepper until well coated.
- Spread the seasoned potatoes evenly on a baking sheet and transfer it to the preheated grill. Close the lid and roast the potatoes for about 20 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy.
- In the meantime, season the carrots and onion rings with salt, pepper, and a drizzle of olive oil. Toss to coat them well.
- After the potatoes have been roasting for about 20 minutes, add the seasoned carrots and onion rings to the same baking sheet. Make sure to arrange them in a single layer to ensure even cooking.
- Continue roasting the vegetables for an additional 15-20 minutes or until the carrots are tender and the onions are caramelized.
- While the vegetables are roasting, prepare your Kamado Joe grill for direct grilling at a medium-high heat of around 400°F (200°C).
- Place the seasoned Tomahawk steak directly over the heat source and sear it for about 3-4 minutes per side or until a beautiful crust forms.
- Once the steak is seared, move it to the indirect heat side of the grill and close the lid. Cook the steak for an additional 10-15 minutes for medium-rare, or adjust the cooking time according to your preferred doneness.
- Remove the steak from the grill and let it rest for about 5-10 minutes before slicing.
- Serve the perfectly cooked Tomahawk steak alongside the roasted potatoes, carrots, onions, and garlic. Enjoy!
