Grilled NY Strip Steak with Smashed Potatoes, Bacon-Wrapped Green Beans, and Onion-Turkey Salsa
Ingredients:
- 2 NY strip steaks
- 4 medium-sized potatoes
- 1 lb green beans
- 1 large onion
- 8 strips of bacon
- 1 lb turkey breast
- 1 cup salsa
Instructions:
- Preheat your Kamado Joe grill to medium-high heat, around 400°F (200°C).
- Prepare the Smashed Potatoes:
- Wash and scrub the potatoes, leaving the skin on.
- Place the potatoes in a large pot of salted water and boil until tender, approximately 15-20 minutes.
- Drain the potatoes and let them cool slightly.
- Using a fork or a potato masher, gently smash each potato to flatten it without breaking it apart completely.
- Prepare the Bacon-Wrapped Green Beans:
- Blanch the green beans in boiling water for about 2 minutes, then transfer them to an ice bath to cool down quickly.
- Divide the green beans into bundles, wrapping each bundle with a strip of bacon.
- Prepare the Onion-Turkey Salsa:
- Dice the onion and turkey breast into small, uniform pieces.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the diced onion, turkey, and salsa. Mix well to incorporate all the flavors.
- Cooking the NY Strip Steaks:
- Season the steaks generously with salt and pepper on both sides.
- Place the steaks on the preheated grill and cook for about 4 to 5 minutes per side for medium-rare doneness.
- Once cooked, remove the steaks from the grill and allow them to rest for a few minutes before serving.
- Cooking the Smashed Potatoes and Bacon-Wrapped Green Beans:
- Place the smashed potatoes and bacon-wrapped green beans on the grill grates.
- Cook the potatoes for approximately 5 minutes on each side, until they develop a crispy crust.
- Cook the bacon-wrapped green beans, turning occasionally, until the bacon is crispy and the beans are tender, for about 8-10 minutes.
- Remove the potatoes and green beans from the grill and let them cool slightly.
- Serve:
- Slice the NY strip steaks against the grain into thick slices.
- Divide the sliced steaks onto individual serving plates.
- Arrange a portion of the smashed potatoes and bacon-wrapped green beans alongside the steak slices.
- Top the steak with a generous spoonful of the onion-turkey salsa.
- Enjoy your delicious Michelin-worthy grilled NY strip steak with smashed potatoes, bacon-wrapped green beans, and onion-turkey salsa!
