Ultimate Cinnamon Sweet Potato Casserole with Marshmallow Topping
Ingredients
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 4 large sweet potatoes
- 1 cup of marshmallows
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
2. Wash the sweet potatoes thoroughly and prick them with a fork all over.
3. Place the sweet potatoes on a baking sheet and bake for 45-60 minutes, or until they become tender.
4. Remove the sweet potatoes from the oven and let them cool slightly.
5. Reduce the oven temperature to 350°F (175°C).
6. Slice the cooled sweet potatoes lengthwise and scoop out the flesh into a mixing bowl.
7. Mash the sweet potato flesh with a fork until smooth and creamy.
8. Add the cinnamon to the sweet potato mixture and mix well to incorporate the flavors.
9. Transfer the sweet potato mixture to a baking dish and spread it evenly.
10. Scatter the marshmallows on top of the sweet potato mixture, covering it completely.
11. Place the dish back in the oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the marshmallows turn golden brown and slightly toasted.
12. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
